WHAT IS DHICHKAON?

DHICHKAON is the creator-owned imprint of comic book writer Saurav Mohapatra. Current titles under development are the crime-noir graphic novel MUMBAI CONFIDENTIAL (with Vivek Shinde) and the supernatural/occult series DHURANDHAR (with Siddharth Panwar).

IS THIS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE IN INDIA? or WHERE CAN I BUY THE BOOKS

The books will be definitely available in India along with international editions for outside markets. Dhichkaon is india-themed, meaning the stories told are uniquely Indian in theme and setting. One of the main reasons for starting this imprint was to go beyond the traditional genres explored in Indian Comics like mythology, superheroes and literary comics.

WHO IS YOUR INTENDED AUDIENCE?

The books are intended primarily for an Indian market, as explained above. Individual titles cater to their respective genre audiences and come with content advisory on a per book basis. For example, MUMBAI CONFIDENTIAL is intended for mature audiences because of strong language and violence, where as DHURANDHAR is recommended for teen and up because of horror/occult elements.

ARE YOU A PUBLISHER? or WILL YOU PUBLISH MY BOOK?

Nope, DHICHKAON is not a publisher. Rather it's a label for the creator owned work of Saurav Mohapatra only.

WHY THE NAME?

Unless you've watched campy hindi movies with really bad sound effects, it's kind of hard to explain. Let it suffice for now that the names comes from the sound effect for the firing of a handgun in such movies.
